Custom House
In the "new" Avila Beach (rebuilt when the "old" Avila Beach town was intentionally demolished by Unocal to clean up the results of leaky pipeline in 1999), the Custom House is a reincarnation of a local favorite. The "old" Old Custom House restaurant was named after the building it occupied: the official U.S. Port of Entry built in 1927. Rebuilt just two blocks away in the "new" Avila, the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the heart of the beachside community.
